I made these rolls for two years without these ingredients, and the bread was still delicious.\u0026nbsp; Adding this stuff, though, takes these rolls from amazing to amazingly magical.\u0026nbsp; Magic, people.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Col\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u0026nbsp;Dissolve 2 tsp of sugar in the water.\u0026nbsp; Dissolve the yeast in the sugar-water.\u0026nbsp; Let stand for 10 minutes.\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EMeanwhile, scald the milk.\u0026nbsp; Add the shortening, 1\/2 C sugar, and salt.\u0026nbsp; Set aside to let cool.\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EIn a mixing bowl, combine the milk mixture, and 2 C of flour mixed with the wheat gluten.\u0026nbsp; Beat smooth.\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EAdd yeast mixture, eggs, dough enhancer, and remaining flour.\u0026nbsp; Knead until smooth.\u0026nbsp; \u003Ci\u003EDough will be pretty wet\/sticky.\u003C\/i\u003E\u0026nbsp; Let rise.\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EShape rolls as desired.\u0026nbsp; \u003Ci\u003EOur family favorite is the crescent roll:\u0026nbsp; Cut dough into fourths.\u0026nbsp; Roll each section into a 1\/4\" circle.\u0026nbsp; Butter well.\u0026nbsp; Cut each section into 12 pie-shaped pieces.\u0026nbsp; Begin rolling at largest end and form crescents.\u003C\/i\u003E\u0026nbsp; When hot, add ginger, garlic, and soy sauce.\u0026nbsp; Dissolve the brown sugar in the sauce, then raise the heat to medium and boil until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.\u0026nbsp; Remove from heat.\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EDip steak pieces into cornstarch to apply a very thin dusting to both sides.\u0026nbsp; Let sit for about 10 minutes to the cornstarch sticks.\u0026nbsp; Meanwhile, heat up frying oil in a wok or skillet over medium heat.\u0026nbsp; Add the beef to the oil and sautee until the beef just begins to darken on the edges, about two minutes.\u0026nbsp; Use a large slotted spoon to take the meat out and onto paper towels, then pour the oil out of the wok or skillet.\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EPut the pan back over the heat, dump the meat back into it, and cook thoroughly.\u0026nbsp;
